HOTEL SAHRAI

Hotel Sahrai is strategically situated so you can appreciate the views the modern city of Fez and the Medina (old city).

This opulent boutique hotel offers extraordinary views of every period in the history of Fez, the mother of all Moroccan imperial cities, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981. Far from the postcard clichés, here you can foresee the roots and the development of a lively city, full of the dynamic spirit embodied by the Hotel Sahrai. Imagine your days in a former palace, turned 5-star splendid hotel, with a high-minded service literally a stone's throw away from perhaps one of the most important landmarks in the world.

Hotel Sahrai is the vision of co-owner Anis Sefrioui and fulfils a lifelong dream. A young entrepreneur and architect’s son, he started out running the Riad Fès, previously converted into a hotel by his father. As head of this establishment, which he brought up to Relais & Châteaux standards and enlarged by adding a spa designed by architect and designer Christophe Pillet, he contributed to the sustainable development of tourism in his city.

The 80 people who make up the teams at the Sahrai have all been specially trained to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Accompanied by Thierry Hernandez, they are led by a young manager with a prestigious career history. Guillaume Binder, the hotel manager, has previously worked at Le Cheval Blanc in Courchevel, via the protocol services of the United States Ambassador and the United Nations headquarters in Geneva.

To assist him, the establishment’s Sales and Marketing manager was chosen directly from Anis Sefrioui’s circle of business associates. Cezarina Pomojnicu was a former employee of the Riad Fès, but also a talented linguist who loves travel, the Arab world and this city in particular. Paying great attention to detail and attentive to every guest, she will also generously share the key to the mysteries of the Medina and can find a solution to any special request.

The spa is managed by Hélène Bouquet, a Parisian beauty expert brought in to supervise a team of two physiotherapists and three beauticians.

OUR STORY

Hotel Sahrai is a healthy haven at the heart of Fez, welcoming you into its world of well-being and relaxation. During the day you can sink into the impressive panoramic infinity pool, receive an endless choice of massage in their ultimate privileged Givenchy spa, allow yourself a hammam session or simply dip into their inviting jacuzzi. For an active time, the premises has its own Technogym and excellent outdoor tennis court.

The ground floor has two restaurants serving an à la carte menu and set menus that include; Moroccan and continental specialities of the house, juice and fresh fruit salads. We had both breakfast and dinner at the Amaraz restaurant (gourmet Moroccan cuisine) and indulged in some fine Moroccan cold and hot dishes.

The establishment makes up of 6.800m2 floor space with 10 Superior rooms, 26 Deluxe rooms, 13 Junior Suites and 1 Sahrai Suite. We stayed at the Junior Suite on the third floor with the room facing the arcades of the hotel with stunning panoramic views of the city of Fez. Taza stone facings are on one side of the room, adding touches of brightness to the property. The in-glass bathroom had a tall Fassi jar, which was specially designed for the hotel adding a designer touch to local skills and traditions. Our comfortable bed is designed by Piero Lissoni and we had an iconic 1960s desk lamp

The screens, windows and moucharaby also meet this requirement, tempered by a selection of seating designed by Christophe Pillet for Emu, Tacchini and Vasharin; and by the choice of distinctive pieces in the guest rooms. For the Hotel Sahrai, exclusivity is the greatest of all luxuries.
