If you are one of these people who appreciate good design, sweet locations, and less small talk, then the CitizenM chain is for you. The tech-savvy hotel chain pairs affordable hotels with design and does so ever so gracefully. The latest addition is the Tower of London brand, which boasts a rooftop, bar, lounge, cafe, 24-hour canteen, and more. Located right by the historic Tower of London, you can’t complain about the bearings with East London, Southbank and the centre nearby.
OUR STORY
When you check-in, you fully immerse yourself yourself and enter the world of CitizenM in all its glory, encompassing coffee, society, cloudM, and canteen. We kicked off the day with a coffee at coffeeM a nice coffee concept on the ground floor with a delightfully cheery staff and tasty sweet treats and coffee. Then there is the canteen, don’t let the name put you off, as this is a brilliant and convenient 24-hour service area where you can enjoy hot soups, pastries, snacks, salads, and so on. Whether you are jet lagged and in breakfast mode upon arrival or want something for dinner, there is a little something for all. As you are opposite Tower of London in all of its glory, it would be ludicrous not to take advantage of the rooftop, aptly named cloudM. societyM is a workspace that doesn’t feel like work. Yes, I am sure freelancers will more than fully appreciate this concept, as corporate and traditional concepts of working areas are replaced with quirky features that embrace a more creative working environment. Think Vitra furniture, bold wall artwork, cool views, and ambience. SocietyM is located on the 7th and 8th floors of citizenM Tower of London Hotel so as not to be interrupted by those entering and exiting the hotel.
You can also find collectionM, which is a new string to the CitizenM’s bow. Here you can purchase a variety of travel accessories in addition to a nicely curated selection of design and travel books, objects, and fine art. Perfect for those wanting to add to their collection or buy a few presents. They also developed a capsule collection of limited-edition art from Barbara van den Berg and Paul Cox, in collaboration with The Public House of Art and on display in the guest rooms.
Rooms are fully kitted out with tablets to control the entire functionality of the room. This includes heating and air conditioning, lighting, the opening and closing of blinds, and music. We fully appreciated the plug socket dock, including UK, European, Samsung, and Apple outlets. The beds are super comfortable and fairly large, ensuring that a good night’s sleep is the minimum. One of the great advantages of choosing this branch as a location is the magnificent views of Tower of London, if you can book a room with a view, we suggest you do so. Otherwise you always have the rooftop for London musings from above.
