PALAIS AMANI

Fez is Morocco’s oldest imperial city, and its medina is classified as a World Heritage Site. It is a symbolic reference to Morocco, commonly perceived as embracing the more authentic side, thanks to the Medina, open markets, decadent souks, and traditional customs. Here, you’ll find young ones carrying bread from the communal ovens around the labyrinth streets and others carrying their load on a mule. It is a beautiful step back in time. Palais Amani is a former grand Fassi family house that was renovated by its owners in 2006. They spent three and a half years transforming the house into the boutique, 15-room palatial stay in Fez that stands today. If you’re looking for a serene, relaxing experience among beautiful grounds, Palais Amani, a worthy contender in its decadent and leafy glory. Tucked away down a side street within the medina’s walls, you can find a humble building that boosts the most glorious inner patio.

OUR STORY

OUR STORY

The garden, spa, terrace, books, and free Wi-Fi throughout Palais Amani are just some of the offerings. Though we don’t think you’ll watch much TV, most rooms feature flat screens and sound systems with pre-loaded iPods. The bathrooms are also fully kitted with natural aromatic bath toiletries.

The Grand Suite, is one of the most impressive at Palais Amani, with its stained-glass windows looking out onto the garden. It also has his and her walk-in wardrobes and covers 100 sq/m of the South Wing. It is a must-have for those who want a luxurious and romantic stay. The Mezzanine Suites are decorated with original artwork, classic rugs, and embellished light fixtures, giving a cosy vibe. Misriah I’s apartment is on the first floor and has a decadent setting. It can be combined with the Misriah II apartment on the second floor, which has a private terrace so guests can book both apartments as one joint unit. In addition, some of the junior suites have balcony-style mezzanines.

Amani’s Eden restaurant serves creative French and Moroccan food. You can expect hearty tagines, flavourful couscous, and colourful salads here. It makes for a perfect dining setting with the wooden carved doors, view of the garden, and decadent and iconic Zellij tiles from floor to ceiling.  The three-course set menu is around 30 euros. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to both residents and non-residents and cater to special requests or dietary restrictions.

Feel like pampering yourself? Fear not, as the hotel has its own spa. You simply need to book your treatment via reception, and they will prepare the spa and collect you from your room to take you to the vicinity via a candlelit staircase. They provide facials, massages, and classic hammam treatments. In hotter climates, you can take advantage and indulge in your treatment while up on the rooftop terrace, with a fantastic view and aroma of the garden below.
