What makes this hotel special is its fascinating origins and nod to it, with the new services at the spa. In 1929, Alfonso XIII inaugurated the Maritime Sanatorium of San Juan de Dios, a sanctuary for wellness was built to accommodate patients with respiratory difficulties since the area is well known for the beneficial properties of sunlight, which was used as light therapy for tuberculosis, and level of iodine content in the water.
