SABÀTIC SITGES HOTEL

Sitges is a vibrant seaside in Catalonia with 17 beaches, strong Modernism architectural gems, a foodie scene and up to 300 sunny days a year. As an exciting melting pot hosting the LGBTQ+ community, ex-pats and locals - the diverse seaside town has an energy and style like no other. Modernist buildings and palaces are scattered around the cute town centre, some of which perfectly perch along the coastline, where you'll find people roller-blading, yoga practitioners on the beach or cycling enthusiasts venturing to neighbouring towns. Guests can also easily reach several wineries from the location, including Finca Viladellops.

There are several small quaint hotels and a few more extensive hotel franchises. However, Sabàtic Sitges Hotel is a little haven situated a short walk from the beach in the less-popular La Plana neighbourhood, which is undergoing huge development. The sophisticated hotel with interior design led by the renowned Sandra Tarruella, forms part of the Autograph collection, opened in 2022, adding a serene and design-focused option for those looking for somewhere to stay in Sitges. The town is a great option for those wanting a change of scene after spending time in Barcelona, a 50 minutes drive or 40 minutes train ride away.

OUR STORY

A short walk from Sitges train station, we had a warm welcome at Sabàtic. The reception feels like you're in someone's living room, with low loungers, well-paced ornaments and books adorning the open shelves. We couldn't help but feel calm as the staff offered us a drink and invited us to relax as the team checked us in. Note that we particularly appreciated this as we were travelling as a family.

Sabàtic offers 90 suites across 5 room categories, all consistent with neutral tones, open living space, modern amenities and a terrace with sea views. The Junior Suite has a sofa bed, allowing an additional person to stay. Our 45 sqm suite was roomy and comfortable; we enjoyed dinner in the lounge and even divulged in a bottle of vino on the terrace in the evening as we watched the sunset. A yoga mat provided also encouraged a morning session in front of the sea view.

The open dining space at the hotel is flooded with light and acts as a central spot where guests grab a drink at the bar, dine at the lower tables, or hang out in the recreational space at the back. It is glorious first thing in the morning when it is relatively quiet, as people slowly stir and make their way down to start the day.

On holiday with the kids? They've got you. There is the option to book a family room, separating the living room so families can enjoy time together. These rooms offer a bunk bed, making it easier for those travelling to Sitges with more than one child.

Two pools are available on location: an adult-only pool and one for children, which helps maintain the serenity and well-being aspect of Sabàtic. The adult-only pool occupies the upper level and is adjacent to the fitness room, whilst the other is just by the terrace of their Pasatempo restaurant. We enjoyed both and dried off in a shady part of the chill-out area on the sun loungers before a spot of lunch at their restaurant. The concept behind the hotel is significantly grounded in living your life and being free, "Sabàtic Sitges Autograph Collection is the place where Saturday lives". Guests will quickly feel like they are part of the Mediterranean lifestyle, with the special vermouth hour organised by the hotel, sea views, relaxing zones, delicious food, and local wines.
