POSADA TERRA SANTA
You will find Posada Terra Santa within a narrow alleyway a stone's throw away from the buzzy centre, with the only thing resemblance of a hotel is their logo on their medieval façade with a Majorcan palatial courtyard. This boutique haven recreates the forgotten splendour of the Boixador barons' stately home dating back to 1576, combining their historic magnificence with the highest standard of 21st-century luxury, comfort and design. With multiple lounge areas, a heated rooftop pool and enough amenities to keep you indoors for a couple of days, you will be pat yourself in the back knowing you selected well among the chaotic, irregular charm of the city's historic quarter.
"I do not want guests to feel at home, I want them to feel like guests in mine," says Carmen Cordón with her husband Ignacio Jiménez of gleaming Posada Terra Santa, who have opened its doors in 2014. Ignacio is the chief executive of business for Occidental and Barceló hotel chains, and with great experience and expertise has summoned the best hotel ideas for this project. Carmen Cordón has a history working in a press house, as well as opened a restaurant in Madrid in the past, which has encouraged her to open La Despensa del Barón within the hotel. They made sure to wait many years for the perfect hotel spot in Palma, wanting the location to be in a residential neighbourhood, offering a unique product away from other conventional hotels on the island.
Each of the 26 rooms have been designed in harmony with the space and layout of the original stately home. Expect to enjoy the views, whether facing the residential neighbourhood or the adjoining interior patios. Rooms on the upper floors are surrounded by the terracotta-tiled rooftops, with neutral colours contrasting beautifully with the medieval façade. All rooms are sound-proofed, so rest assure, you will get the sleep you deserve on your holiday. Free high speed WiFi and Smart Tv's all have mobile device connections.
On the top floor, there is a former salon converted to lounge area with sofas and armchairs, ideal for reading or chatting over a drink. If you plan on staying in and can't be bothered to go outdoors, you will be happy to learn about the honesty bar on the ground floor. Open 24 hours, you can help yourself with whatever you like, simply make a note of what you have enjoyed and pay at the end of your stay.
Our favourite part of the hotel is the rooftop terrace looking over the historic quarter of Palma. You can enjoy stunning views with the Sant Francesc church a stone's throw away. The area has a solarium, a small heated swimming pool and a relaxing spot with a little roof and some music playing in the background. You can simply call downstairs to get your drinks or snacks ordered to be taken. This space is amazing, considering the excellent Mediterranean climate lets you enjoy it for most parts of the year.
