PLÁCIDO Y GRATA

We are huge fans of the southern mainland part of Spain. We give ourselves an excuse to spend a few nights in Seville every visit. The city is a melting pot of culture and has grown significantly in the past few years. Hotels, restaurants, and hospitality groups have invested in this colourful, cultural, and decadent hub for quite some time, and we are here for it. Plácido y Grata is the latest newbie on the boutique hotel scene, which is already making quite a splash thanks to its creative and unique approach.

The quaint boutique hotel, designed by Your Living Space Atelier, is in the city centre. It’s hard to believe so, as once you take a step into the reception area, time stands still, and you are in a mini urban oasis where contemporary design meets traditional elements. Plácido y Grata has 15 rooms, including suites with standard and deluxe options. It also boasts a cute café, a cocktail bar with a patio and a concept store across the road.

OUR STORY

OUR STORY

The one thing that stands out at this hotel is the inner Andalusian patio and arches. It’s a constant reminder that you are staying somewhere historical. The space was previously a manor house from the 19th century. Throughout the hotel, guests will see gentle nods to the yesteryears carefully curated to create a simple yet pretty area that warms your spirit every time you return from a day out.

Every morning, breakfast was a treat. A chef was on standby for made-to-order items in an open breakfast room adjacent to the patio. We enjoyed omelettes, freshly baked bread, and coffee from NOMAD COFFEE. Again, no space was left untouched by design touches. It’s worth noting that child seats are available for those staying with children in Seville.

Rooms encompass an effortless Scandinavian design complemented by warm hues referencing the Mediterranean. Take, for example, the bathtub in one of the deluxe bedrooms, which takes centre stage with a backdrop of terracotta tiles and modern design fixtures. We stayed in one of the suites, which was a wonderful and relaxing retreat for our stay. The Ridge Vase by Muuto, with elegantly arranged flowers from Orangerie, is particularly welcoming. Some suites have a large window leading to a private terrace with a bathtub and outdoor shower.
