If you seek a chic hideaway in Palma de Mallorca, MHouse Hotel is a charming option behind Calle San Miguel. It effortlessly rests on the corner of a quiet side street yet is a few minutes away from the hustle of the shopping boulevard and the local food market. The hotel is a top choice for those favouring a relaxed stay. Residing at MHouse Hotel is like staying with friends in various communal spaces. You’ll find an array of artefacts, ornaments, and tapestries that all contribute to a cosy and worldly feel. This is balanced nicely with Majorcan touches, such as baskets, wooden furniture, and original architectural features. You know you’re in Mallorca when you see cute balconies, sun-drenched patios and shutters, all of which this abode possesses.
OUR STORY
At MHouse you won’t find lengthy hotel brochures, menus, or traditional stationery on bedside tables. It’s easy to forget you’re staying in a hotel, and the property deliberately masterminds that. Yes, all rooms have a minibar and a telephone, but they rest discreetly. Upon entering the hotel, the reception is visible but isn’t the first to meet your eye. Instead, the warm lights of the signage, ornaments and bar in the restaurant are where you enter. The space is cosy, and after you have travelled, the staff kindly invites you to sit and sip on a glass of cava while check-in is in progress.
Rooms are simple and stylish. Expect a pared-down interior design with just the right accents. Leafy printed bedding stands out against the white backdrop of the walls and the muted rattan headboards and wooden bedside tables. The MARSHALL® Bluetooth speakers, baskets, and ceiling fan add a nice vintage touch. Aside from the minibar, there is a cocktail station, should you want to shake up something special before heading out into the vibrant city. After a day of exploring the island, guests can freshen up in the modern bathrooms equipped with a rainfall shower and exclusive bathroom products by RITUALS®.
Breakfast is on the lower floor of the property. We liked the low ceiling and the fact that it is adjacent to the wine cellar. Local cheeses, slices of bread, cured meats, cereals, fresh fruit, and juices are breakfast staples for guests and are available in a buffet style. The hotel’s Cafe Bistro is a hit for lunch, brunch, and dinner, with locals and visitors often arriving with reservations. The food is casual, and diners can dine inside or outside on the terrace under hanging plants. On a sunny day, guests can pop up to the second floor and refresh in the splash pool, referred to as ‘Sa Petita’.
