BOUTIQUE HOTEL V

by Jeremy

Vejer de la Frontera has been generous to travellers for decades, as the prettiest white villages cherished in the sun-drenched region of Andalusia house some unique boutique properties. Highly praised for its authenticity and serene qualities, Hotel V is a reference in the world of boutique hospitality, as it peacefully houses 12 intimate rooms in a private hideaway and offers a qualitative selection of services and amenities. This boutique gem has a spacious rooftop that overlooks the Roman and Moorish heritage of the historic centre and, on most days, has eye-catching sights of the Atlas Mountains of neighbouring Morocco. Traditional culture with modern amenities can be enjoyed here, with emblematic historic sights on your doorstep.

Hotel V opened its doors on February 22, 2008. Owner Jean Van Gysel is responsible for restoring and designing the 17th-century Spanish palacio. He is now the originator of a brand new deluxe boutique hotel brand for the Middle East and has his hands on more properties. Van Gysel’s grandfather bought the hotel Le Plaza Brussels many years ago, and in 1996, he and his father decided to renovate the building to turn it into a 5-star property.

Van Gysel’s first foray into boutique hospitality began when he began to renovate Hotel V which was potentially a hotel space. His secret has always been to promote the hotel as a house with 12 bedrooms that happens to offer the service of a five-star hotel. You have the option to rent a room or lease the whole house for events, weddings, or hosting a collective.

OUR STORY

OUR STORY

Owner JeanVan Gysel used the Spanish interior company Porcelanosa for the flooring and bathroom fittings and chose reclaimed colonial antiques from the Goan jungle. The property’s overall look is warm colours, natural elements, and a beautiful mixture of ancient architecture and modern design elements. The location is discreet, on a long, narrow street next to residential properties.

At Hotel V you can refresh your body and mind with a rejuvenating yoga class conducted by certified professional yoga instructors with over ten years of training in the studies of Hatha yoga, core strength Vinyasa yoga, meditation, yoga’s anatomy, and movement’s anatomy. The classes offered at Hotel V are creative in style and keen on Hatha Vinyasa Yoga. You can ask to have the class conducted in English, Spanish, or German.

The rooftop terrace has wooden sun loungers with a plunge pool below your feet and water sprinklers to keep you cool. A jacuzzi and an honesty bar will make you tempted to book another night, as the comfort level is surreal. Located in the old well is a spa at the bottom of a glass spiral staircase. Immerse yourself in customised aroma therapy. The property’s rejuvenating Ayurvedic treatments (practiced in India for over 3,000 years) are the perfect complement to a luxurious holiday in Vejer. They are also available in the privacy of your guest rooms. Partake in a truly renewing experience with an indulgent spa treatment at Hotel V.

For exclusive use, you can rent the house as a luxury rental with full staff. This 17th-century Spanish residence is an alternative to the average hotel experience. Hold a wedding, celebrate a memorable honeymoon, gather with friends and family, or use it as your exclusive stay only.
