DESTINO SITGES
Sitges is a beautiful coastal seaside town outside of Barcelona city, that some tend to overlook. It is often reduced to a day trip but this quaint and charming town has a great deal to offer and is brimming with ambience. Destino Sitges is a humble building located in a residential part of town, conveniently behind the train station. When you head in the direction, you are surrounded by locals.
The boutique rooms are a result of sheer hard work from the French owners Laetitia Hochard and Laurent Vernet Vitali, who both relocated from Marseille to embark on a new journey in Spain. From the front door, which has been carved to imitate the local doors in the town that are embellished with works from carpenters, to the added details in the rooms - you certainly don't go without. Cushions have been sourced from Africa, balconies and terraces are leafy, terrace chairs add a pop of colour and pockets of influences from Ibiza are subtle and throughout. In short, Destino Sitges is a wonderful surprise in an unassuming area.
OUR STORY
You have the choice of 7-holiday apartments to choose from at Destino Sitges. Many of the rooms have the same Moroccan and Mediterranean aesthetic but some have slightly different layouts and some have different bathrooms. Our favourite is the spacious Esmeralda apartment, which is just incredible considering you are tucked away with residents around you. The pool area oozes tranquillity. There is a Moroccan vibe, due to the surrounding trees and silver plated tables, patterned rugs and colours. The 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom is an ideal stay for those with friends or small families that would prefer to relax poolside with little ones.
Casa Lucia is a boutique 40m² 1 bedroom apartment on the first floor. The bedrooms have the same headboard and style as the others but the bathroom has an elegant carved shelving space which is Arabic in detail. The sink itself is the centre-piece and beautifully made. Although there isn't a pool, there is a small terrace for guests to enjoy and relax on balmy evenings.
Their latest addition is Casa Blanca, which boasts views of the rooftops in Sitges and the coast. In the morning you can imagine waking up to birds chirping, and the sunlight streaming through the 25m² apartment and 30m2 partly roofed terrace. Space is all on that terrace and view. Indoor living space is neatly juxtaposed with that of the outdoor, meaning that you'll likely keep your sliding door open and unwind in comfort outside during your stay. It's for that reason, that this apartment has an outdoor shower - making it the perfect summer retreat.
This haven is just 9 minutes walk from Sitges beach and Garraf Beach is 8 km away.
