Greece is opening its borders on the back of the pandemic, encouraging visitors to explore all that it has to offer. Before the nation was in quarantine, we interviewed John Kyritsis, the Owner of the pristine boutique A77 Suites by Andronis in Athens. John has quite a background, having worked for prestigious hotels such as Imperial Hilton in Rhodes and Great Britain in Athens, before becoming CEO at the Andronis Exclusive luxury hotel chain until 2012. Since then, he has successfully set up the first company in Greece to deal exclusively and professionally with hotel sales and booking management, before becoming a hotel owner himself.
How would you describe the style of A77?
— The style of A77 Suites by Andronis is a mixture of contemporary, minimalist design with neoclassical references, such as gypsum ceilings and elaborate cornice detailing. The hotel boasts elegance in an understated luxurious manner.

— A77 Suites by Andronis is located in Plaka, the most historic neighborhood of Athens, in the center of its beating heart and next to the country’s most historic monuments. Plaka is the city’s quietest and most picturesque neighborhood, only few minutes’ walk from a vast option of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops.

Are there any special services that you offer?
— You would not believe that despite the absence of space in our small A77 Suites by Andronis world, we manage to offer all the services of a luxury hotel even in Suite massage therapies. What really stands out though, is not one specific service or experience, but the positivity that everything is possible that our team inspires our guests to believe. We are determined to always go above and beyond of what is expected from a small city hotel and prove our valued guests right on their choice to stay with us.
We love the details from the original building. Can you tell us more about the 19th century building?
— A77 Suites by Andronis is a19th century, neoclassical, listed building, constructed sometime around 1880. The House was the home of a noble family of Athens that stayed there for approximately half a century. Later, the mansion was sold, and different businesses found their “home” there, among them a printing house on the 1st floor, a small clothing manufacturing company on the basement and a boutique in the ground floor, right where so many decades later, our own A77 multi brand boutique is located. After few more decades the building was completely abandoned until 2018, when we took over the renovation of the house in cooperation with the Archaeology and Antiquities Service of Greece.
What is your favourite thing to do in Athens on the weekend?
— Strolling with my family and friends in the historic center of Athens, shopping in Ermou, enjoying coffee in one of the numerous traditional cafes of Plaka, having lunch in the restaurant of the New Acropolis Museum overlooking Dionisiou Aeropagitou and Acropolis Hill, enjoying a glass of Greek wine in one of the Terrace Bars of the center that offer views starting from the Ancient agora all the way to the Parthenon.
