Gilles & Boissier’s New Vision for Boutique Hospitality in St. Tropez

Renowned design agency Gilles & Boissier, celebrated for their sophisticated and poetic approach to interiors, has partnered with the prestigious Oetker Collection to create a luxurious new retreat in St. Tropez. Scheduled to open in 2027, this yet-to-be-named hotel will blend timeless Provençal charm with modern elegance, setting a new standard for boutique hospitality in the region.

Strategically located on the former site of Le Mas Bellevue, the property is just five minutes from the bustling town centre and the iconic Pampelonne beaches. The design is envisioned as a serene hamlet of 11 interconnected Provencal-style buildings surrounded by nature, promising a harmonious escape for discerning travellers.

Provencal Elegance Meets Modern Luxury

Gilles & Boissier’s design ethos shines throughout the hotel, which will feature 53 meticulously appointed rooms and suites. Each room will boast private terraces, offering uninterrupted sea views and an intimate connection to the landscaped gardens, complete with olive trees and native plants. The architects’ signature blend of rustic simplicity and refined luxury is evident in every detail, from the warm wooden beams and arched windows to textured plaster walls and straw accents.

Dorothée Boissier, co-founder of Gilles & Boissier, describes the hotel’s concept as “an invitation to embrace the essentials.” She compares it to the simplicity of a sailboat, where guests can feel the sea breeze and connect with nature in its purest form. This vision is reflected in the property’s design, which carefully balances elegant interiors with the authenticity of Provençal farmhouses.

A simple gesture brings the water close enough to feel the sea spray softly caress your face. Everything here is immediate, near, as if immersed in the essence of simplicity. Unlike a yacht, where layers separate you from the sea, here, everything is within reach. An invitation to embrace the essentials, embodied in the hotel’s philosophy: “What you have is all you need”.

Guests will enjoy access to a sparkling infinity pool, a world-class wellness facility, and vibrant dining spaces that capture the essence of local cuisine. The hotel’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its thoughtful integration into the natural surroundings, enhancing its appeal as both a private sanctuary and a convivial gathering place.

Oetker Collection’s Legacy of Excellence

As part of the Oetker Collection, known for its portfolio of Masterpiece Hotels, this St. Tropez gem will join an elite group of properties, including Le Bristol Paris and Eden Rock – St Barths. The collection is synonymous with timeless elegance, inventive gastronomy, and unmatched hospitality. With this latest addition, Oetker continues its tradition of curating extraordinary experiences in the world’s most glamorous destinations.

A New Era for St. Tropez Hospitality

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in St. Tropez’s luxury travel landscape. By combining Gilles & Boissier’s visionary design with Oetker Collection’s renowned hospitality, the hotel promises to become a beacon of understated sophistication. Opening in 2027, it is set to redefine boutique hospitality in the region, offering a retreat that is as tranquil as it is exquisite.
