Several things excite us, and meeting new people and hearing their stories are at the top of the list. It makes you realise how different and similar we are as human beings and is quite fascinating. When we heard about the high-quality olive oil brand World of KAÏA, we were instantly drawn to the brand story and its origins. The sense of connection has come up time and time again whilst travelling post-2020, and seeing creators reconnect and set up businesses during uncertainty is the go-getting spirit we want to continue championing.

In one of our last few posts, we referred to our views on the existing COVID-19 pandemic that has affected the nation. Many countries have resorted to being placed on temporary lockdown, meaning that individuals are limited to time outside and can only go out for essentials. Such restrictions have led to the suspension of the freedom of movement that we are all privy to having.

The Lust Series - Casa Chinchilla

We were fortunate to discover Chinchilla at the All Those Market held in Barcelona late last year. We went intending to buy presents and ended up purchasing gifts for ourselves. The weavings by Luna Muñoz immediately stood out from other stall-holders. You'll find beautifully textured weavings on items you wouldn't necessarily expect, such as purses and iPad covers.

The Lust Series - Pla

We came across sustainable brand Pla, whilst spending a morning scrolling through Instagram. It was their “basket like” sandals with their cute branded insole and artisan flair that really grabbed our attention. We instantly imagined taking a stroll along the coast on a sunny day or popping to a quaint market in some village whilst holding a basket of wild flowers. Pla, is the epitome of slow design and sustainability. The island of Mallorca heavily influences the brand, is where the studio by Co-Founder Irene is situated. The Lust Series - Unrobe

We discovered sustainable fashion brand Unrobe, whilst visiting Amsterdam in April 2018. We were fortunate enough to spot them at their pop up on. It was the window depicting the transparent costs of an average garment to be made sold and distributed versus their own concept. The cross comparison highlighted that it wasn't only cheaper to purchase items from their own brand but fairer labour.

Today is World Water Day. This year’s theme is Nature for Water, which is very timely given the fact that we have seen some of the worst water related natural disasters in quite some time.
