TWENTYONE is located in the heart of the upmarket suburban neighbourhood Kifissia, locally endorsed for being the more glam side of Athens, where luxury boutiques and mansions are the norm. The area is praised for being the Beverly Hills of Athens, in which hotel TWENTYONE pays homage to with its leafy outdoor bar-restaurant 21, splendidly magnified rooms with segments of a 70 square meters painting by Georgia Sagri and the property’s full range of facilities. OUR STORY

We stayed two nights in 4-star hotel TWENTYONE after an adventuresome few days in downtown Athens. Our stay was perfect as it allowed us to enjoy a more tranquil side of Athens with tree-lined streets opposite an array of neo-classical buildings and stunning galleries hosting works by prominent Greek artists such is the case of the Kouvoutsakis Art Institute. The Kifisia neighbourhood has a romantic flair with horse and carriages covering short distances and the Kefalari Square with ponds and palm trees serenaded with beautiful, interesting plants and flowers. In addition to this, the neighbourhood also has a mall, a bowling center, Cinemax Theater, video-game rooms and other forms of entertainment for families and friends to enjoy qualitative time together.

TWENTYONE boasts 21 rooms in total and its address is n°21 Kolokotroni Street, hence where they got the hotel name from. DecaArchitecture has managed to promote the co-existence of old and new while adding functionality and style. The style is best described as minimalist, with initial elements of efficiency and comfort in each room allowing space for lounging around on your bed or sofa. All rooms are fitted with ergonomical furniture to ensure utmost convenience, with an abundance of added features and enhanced functionality. Impressively, the wardrobe can transform into a table and chair separating the bedroom from the bathroom.

Situated on the ground floor of the hotel with a separate entrance, 21 is a bar-restaurant that has become quite a hit with the hip crowd. The menu is mostly Greek and Italian cuisine with some international flavours. This is also a friendly hangout to enjoy a creative cocktail at the bar before heading out for the evening.

The Kifisia neighbourhood is on the slopes of Mount Pendeli and has a far milder climate than Athens city. Being that we stayed in the month of August, it was a relief to learn that the Semiramis Hotel, also part of the YES! Hotel group, is only a street away from our place of stay, and guests can mutually enjoy the swimming pool and facilities.
