Praktik Vinoteca opened in October 2014 as the latest project in the Praktik Hotel group. This is a unique hotel, a singular place to discover and delight into the wonderful world of wine. The element of wine characterises the main decor of this boutique gem, which captured our eyes with its exquisite details and practicality that complements the space. Being well integrated in a central location of the city, you will also be spoilt with their spacious garden terrace where one can sip on a glass of wine after a long day of sightseeing.

Lázaro Rosa-Violán is the interior designer behind Praktik Vinoteca. She integrated wine as a decorative element of the hotel with admirable detail and with the practical approach that is their hallmark as a modern and minimalist hotel. The interior design of Praktik Vinoteca is the work of Contemporain Studio (winner of AD magazine award for 2013).

The Praktik Hotel group has another 4 instalments (as of 2015), in total they make up 4 in Barcelona and 1 in Madrid: Praktik Garden, Praktik Rambla, Praktik Bakery, Praktik Vinoteca (being the latest venue) and in Madrid Praktik Metropol. All modern, concept hotels in great central locations. The Vinoteca hotel oozes sophistication and is bathed in warm hues.

OUR STORY

You will fall in love with the wine culture whilst staying in Praktik Vinoteca. Various days of the week they will host you for a complimentary wine tasting session in the terrace or reception area. At reception, they can advise you on the best restaurants in the city for tasting the most exceptional wines, as well as booking tickets to the most unusual wineries and their vineyards in the region. They also have a pretty neat booklet that shows you the best spots in town for wine and food - which is always appreciated. When we checked in, we were immediately given an invitation for a glass of wine, which definitely helped us get into the spirit of things. The reception area itself is a shrine to all elements related to wine, including the reception area, which we walked past because we just thought it was a bar.

Other than being designed around the passion for wine, the hotel packs a complete list of amenities that go with your stay. There are two types of rooms, the double room and the twin room. All of the rooms are completely fitted with free WiFi service, a private bathroom with a hairdryer, air-conditioning, heating and a safe. The double rooms are interior and have windows looking in to the hotel´s interior patio.

If you want to get an exceptional view of the city, ask for the superior double which are exterior and have street views of C/Balmes. There are also a number of Superior Twin rooms that have the same views with a little balcony.
