Villa dei Papiri

Take a step back in time and enjoy the glory of Villa dei Papiri, a 19th-century Sicilian house that has now taken form as a welcoming organic farm open to visitors to stay. Lovingly renovated in 2008, charm and grace exudes the farmhouse. Lemons, oranges and olive trees surround the house and sprawl across 13 hectares. Located in the Riserva Naturale Ciane and Saline, guests can explore the nature reserve surrounding the River Ciane. It is also 5km from the Syracuse, a historical and picturesque city known for its rich culture and ancient ruins. In fact, archaeological spots are present within the property itself. Behind the main building is an ancient olive press just by rocky hill Cozzo Pantano. Traces of Greek carts can also be found, where people would typically travel led by a horse, donkey or mule.

Villa dei Papiri can host up to 55 people at any given time. Comprised of a central villa with eight large family suites and three annexes referred to as "Dependances" closeby with 16 comfortable double rooms, there are several combinations for groups or those wanting a more secluded stay. All rooms and suites are spacious and fully air-conditioned and come equipped with a TV, fridge, and antique features such as the romantic four-poster beds. Some have views over the garden, whilst others have their own pocket of paradise to relax in. Each morning guests have the option to tuck into breakfast in the luscious green grounds of the villa or the sophisticated dining hall.

The team at the villa are available to assist guests with activities during their stay. Whether you want to head to Catania, visit River Ciane or take a cruise to the Aeolian Islands, all can be arranged at ease.
