YURBBAN TRAFALGAR

Yurbban is a new hotel concept that links local and urban experience in the oldest district of Barcelona city. With 56 rooms, this boutique gem caters to every individual with their extensive range of services and leisure facilities, focusing on attention to every detail. Their envious rooftop terrace takes you above the city, providing 360-degree panoramic views of vibrant Barcelona, with a plunge pool to cool off in.

Josep Oriol Serra and Manel Grau are the founders of Smart Rooms Company, with Yurbban Hotels being their new chain of boutique stays. The company has extensive experience in accommodations for tourists and students focusing on those seeking short-stay apartment lets, functional residences and hotels. Yurbban is a new concept of what is considered to be 'urban', for those who love a personalised service with a blend of design interior and smart technology. Guests of Yurbban Trafalgar will discover a modern, chic accommodation catered to the needs of the individual with four types of rooms to choose from and leisure areas; terrace, gym and restaurant.

Interior designer Raquel Sogorb has done an excellent job of giving the hotel its unique identity, standing out among all other hotels in the area. She gave the hotel its vintage-style with furniture inspired by famed, classic designers, such as Saarinen and Thonet. Mixes and matches of superior quality materials are used, which give elegance and style to the interiors, with a predominance of oak and brass. There are clearly-defined spaces, thanks to well-defined lighting which evokes different atmospheres.

OUR STORY

Make sure you book directly with Yurbban's website to enjoy numerous benefits: pay once you get to the hotel, there is a free cancellation fee up to 24 hours before arrival (except for non-refundable rates), and you can have exclusive use of one of their Finna Barcelona bicycles.

Sustainability plays a big role in the hotel, such is the case of the use of biodegradable hangers and giving the guests the option to save water and power by re-using towels. Not to be overlooked is Yurbann Trafalgar has been granted Class A building certification thanks to their thermal insulation for internal comfort, a smart climate control system and highly efficient lighting and machinery. Their eco measures have been awarded and recognised for everyone to enjoy the safest stay.

The best way to get to know a city like Barcelona is through one's palate. An authentic Catalan breakfast can be enjoyed in the dining area downstairs. Expect more than 5 different pieces of bread to choose from, accompanied by a selection of local cheeses and cold cuts, fresh juices, pastries and coffee. Once seated you can order how you would like your eggs, and they will teach you the Catalan classic pan tumaca or pan amb tomaquet. This snack calls for all foodie's attention, you must first rub garlic over the cut surface of the rustic bread and then squeeze the ripe tomato against the bread until it is fully grated. Afterwards, you add a drizzle of sea salt and oil, it is literally the best thing for breakfast!

The restaurant Plat Únic located on the groun floor, is a new food concept that launched in September 2018. It’s aim is to focus on one single dish, accompanied with hearty delicious side dishes, dessert and of course…wine. The plat únic (unique dish) changes seasonally. We happened to savour the Galician ribs, mashed parmentier potatoes, spnach and ginger salad and dessert. In between servings, we helped ourselves to house vermouth followed by local wine, which is all bottomless. The setting is low-lit, the service is impeccable with staff on hand to fully explain dishes and local wines and the location is super central. After dinner at the restaurant, we headed to the rooftop terrace for a cocktail and to take in the impressive views of Barcelona.

Yurbban Trafalgar has a spac facility next door at their other hotel Yurbban Passage Hotel & Spa called Signature Organic Spa. It is the city’s first organic spa and comes with heated pool, sauna, steam bath, 2 individual treatment cabins. The luxurious products used are 100% natural and have been certified with an organic certificate and are also used for massage treatments by the team.
