Feed your inner bohemian with a stay in Riad Lolita, a historic palacete within the ancient walls of Tarifa. The property is a love affair between art and history, creating a serene scene that parallels with Andalusian culture. Riad Lolita can accommodate up to 20 people in 7 different spaces, with an option to rent the whole property.
The essence of Riad Lolita lies in the historic Moorish patio, and the rooftop terrace with views of the northern tip of Africa. This is your go-to place to sit back, relax and unwind in one of Europe’s best hidden gem.
The end of summer was approaching and we included Tarifa within our roadtrip from Málaga to Cádiz. Tarifa is a windy paradise, known to attract wind surfers and nature aficionados alike. Downtown has an assortment of swanky bars, blooming boutiques and vibrant squares where both locals and tourists hang out. Riad Lolita was our choice of stay because of its rich Andalusian heritage, easy access from the entrance archway into the old town and its close proximity to the town’s beaches.
Upon entering the property we were greeted by the receptionist Pia. She walked us through the special Moorish patio. A lot of natural light flourishes through the patio as there is a stained glass roof panel. We were invited to the first floor where our bedroom suite was. We noticed the attention to details of the marble floors and retro hydraulic tiles.
There are different communal spaces in Riad Lolita that are perfect for an evening of chill-out. The spacious sitting room on the first floor is mostly used for guests browsing the internet, yoga practices and snacks at the large dining table. As in most spaces of the property, art work and lush green plants serenades the room.
As we appreciate the option of eating in sometimes when away on holidays, we were happy to use the fully equipped kitchenette. Every night we could enjoy a cup of tea with the shared kettle, and make ourselves coffee in the mornings with the Nespresso coffee machine and aeroccino milk heater.
After lunch out we would head to the rooftop for a power nap. The spacious terrace is cosy with lounge furniture, cushions, hammocks and greenery. This special part of Riad Lolita lets you enjoy spectacular views across to the African coastline.
