WHO THEY ARE

Petit Maó opened its doors in 2014, four years after the famous Ses Sucreres did in the humble village of Ferreries nearer the centre of the island. Following Ses Sucreres' success, the hotel owners knew it was only a matter of time before expanding their new concept of accommodations to the island's capital city of Mahón. The group of friends behind the hotel projects continued their B&B style of running the hotel, along with a genuine Minorcan use of spaces and acting as true ambassadors to the city. Our host Nina was there everyday of the week to give advice to guests, arrange trips and share recommendations.

This townhouse accommodates with 6 individual bedrooms. There are five rooms across the 3 floors and one in the garden.

WHAT THEY OFFER

The hotel is in a stately mansion built around the XVIII century. It is at the heart of the British Mahón, a side of town serenaded with beautiful Georgian buildings and amazing cultural hubs. Petit Maó offers a sense of freedom, as the hotel despite being small, has a lot of spaces to use for the guests.

The refrigerator is stacked with fresh drinks, such as the island's own branded lemon sodas and water. You must pay when you check out, following the honesty bar's rules. There is a Samsung tablet with unlimited WiFi access in the breakfast area for use. A stacked library with dozens of books and magazines are in the entrance of the house, mostly vital information on places and things to do around the island. In the warmer months, the outdoor swimming pool is open for guests with towels that you can borrow. Folding e-bicycles are available for hire, and if you bring your own bike there is an area for storing them.

During the warmer months, breakfast can be enjoyed outdoors in the leafy garden by the pool area. There is also an LCD projector and screen that enables outdoor cinema, perfect for warm summer nights.  Extras such as colourful blankets, parasols and towels for the beach can be bought directly from the hotel.
