On the cobbled street near the cathedral in the historical neighbourhood Maó, is where you'll find Casa Albertí. Originally erected in 1740, this newly refurbished boutique hotel occupies 6 rooms, each of which have individual characters. Expect to disconnect, with the guesthouse not possessing TVs, opting for onsite iPads and a video projector instead.
Casa Albertí has an eclectic vintage aesthetic, it is unapologetically simple. Guests can choose between classical, superior and familiar double rooms, all of which are neatly appointed with an en-suite bathroom, air-conditioned, heating, safe-box and a queen-size bed to ensure a good night's sleep. An impressive staircase with its wrought-iron bannisters, leads you to the rooms and finishes with a panoramic roof terrace, where you can bask in the views and enjoy the sunset.
Breakfast is typically Menorcan with a selection of sobrassadas, cheeses, cold meats and more, and the majority of the ingredients are from the island's eco providers. The fact that the hotel is within walking distance from the port, makes it ideal for those wanting to take romantic strolls or simply go sailing. Fornells fishing village and beaches are relatively close and you can also take advantage of the coastal footpaths and go exploring.
The original house was built in 1740 and subsequently declared Cultural Historical Heritage Site. The privileged location in the patrician area of old Mahón places Casa Albertí as a must stay.
