Praised as the latest incarnation of the comfort food craze, Sarah Simmons’ posh, subterranean restaurant on the northern edge of Chinatown has been packed nightly since its September opening. The concept - fried chicken meets champagne. The restaurant, hidden down an iron stairwell off the sidewalk, stretches from the bar to a dimly-lit, narrow dining room. Brick walls are hung with playful photos of chefs and beautiful people eating fried chicken.

Broadway 1602 opened its doors in the summer of 2005 by German curator and art critic Anke Kempkes. This gallery is off the beaten path and away from the obvious gallery openings in the city. It was first installed on Broadway between 28th and 29th in NYC, since 2010 the gallery moved to the 3rd floor of the historical 'Baoudouine Building' at 1181 Broadway between 27th and 28th Street. Representations of an international casts of emerging artists are celebrated here from cities such as New York, Warsaw, Berlin and London.
