Ma Khin Café - Valencia
Ma Khin Café has a modern, open, bright and warm design that invites guests to travel through a whirlpool of different cultures. Chef and owner Steve Anderson is the inspiration behind the café, which is one of Valencia's trendiest restaurants. This is a food haven that takes the name of Anderson's great grandmother, an enterprising woman and a brilliant cook whose history has changed the city's food scene.
Anderson was born in London, where his Burmese mother and Welsh father have always encouraged him to help around the kitchen. His cooking interest stems from the mastery of his mother to make the most exquisite curry on one day and an impeccable roast beef the next. He earned his stripes at a cooking school led by celebrity chef Alistair Little, one of the leading exponents of modern British cuisine. Thanks to surrounding talents, his interest became a life time passion after a sprint in London. Steve Anderson's success began with his residential hip restaurant Seu Xerea, serving fusion dishes blending Mediterranean ingredients with Asian food. With his latest project restaurant on the map, it has become the increasingly sophisticated gastronomic experience Valencia always needed!
The interior, designed by prized Valencian designer, now based in New York Laura Alandes, reflects the Burmese influence of the project in an airy space. Cutting-edge materials as TECHLAM®, the ceramic surface of Ma Khin Coffee contrast with rustic woods, wicker and objects from other cultures that arouse emotions and invites you in. Alandes was also responsible for the design of the kitchen, open and scenic.
Keeping up with the trends of today's busy lifestyle, Ma Khin Café opens everyday of the week from 12:00h to 24:00 with no interrupted schedules. This spot is a restaurant, cafe, shop and takeaway joint with a variety of options that tailors to the needs of a healthy and varied cuisine. There is no lack of ecological, vegan or coeliacs options, as there is food that caters to everyone. We tried their aromatic curries Burma-style and vegetable gyozas among other treats. The restaurant continues to offer its customers the same warm welcome and genuine quality of its inception kitchen.
