La Balsa Restaurant - Barcelona

Imagine yourself a short distance from the iconic Tibidabo in Barcelona, set in a striking and enchanting green paradise, dining with friends and family. This is exactly what you get when you go to La Balsa, a restaurant planked with wooden decor and beautiful terraces, that is most definitely worth the commute. Previously famed for celebrities and cultural and political figures alike, this situe is perfect for couples, private dinners and families. With several luscious green gardens, an indoor space and outdoor terrace with canopies to shield you from sunny spells, it is a restaurant suitable for many. Created by local architects Óscar Tusquets y Lluís Clotet in 1979, it was awarded the FAD Architecture Prize, based on the design masterminded to be appealing to the affluent set.

We enjoyed an impressive tasting menu, where we had traditional croquetas interestingly presented in a seasoning jar, slow cooked lamb, beef carpaccio with parmesan cheese in vinaigrette emulsion and a variety of desserts, one of which included a chest of delicious truffles. There is a great blend of classic and innovative dishes. If you require a private area for a special or intimate function, they have a room for private dining located just by the kitchen. Don't believe us? They were recently awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2014, so they clearly have happy customers.
