Jardí de Ses Bruixes Boutique Hotel - Charm on your doorstep

Jardí de Ses Bruixes Boutique Hotel

Among a quaint street strewn with colourful manor houses is where you'll find boutique hotel Jardi de Ses Bruixes, a converted 18th-century townhouse. It's hard not to miss it, with the ornate bicycle outside, pretty blue print tiles and bold shutter doors. There are a few special places in Menorca and this is most definitely one of them. Fairly new to the scene, this gem opened in 2014 with the premise to offer a boutique stay in Mahón which, is often deemed as the sleepy part of the island. It has 8 stylish rooms, a garden, terrace, and restaurant, all of which is perfect for many a stay.

As you glide through the hallway it is hard not to notice the impeccable design elements with Modernistas features, ornate sculptures, exposed beams and original tiled flooring. You almost feel like you are at a local's very stately home. The enchanting leafy courtyard, with it's chandeliers, vertical garden, watering cans with the latest blooms, greets you as you continue on. Coming across such a beautiful space with an upper chill-out area and cafe feels like a very well kept secret. Whether you're a guest or not you can enjoy breakfast here, and tuck into homemade cakes and jams, eggs, selection of local cheeses and more on a sunny day.  They also have brunch sessions throughout set periods in the year, where people can take advantage of the setting, relax, eat good food and enjoy the company.

For those wanting to dine in the evening, the restaurant offers a selection of dishes made with local produce that are sure to tantalise your tastebuds. Adjacent to the garden, the dining room with it's powder pink decor and incredible Modernista window, makes the perfect scene for a romantic candle-lit dinner. We thoroughly recommend the traditional sepia rellena, which is cuttlefish stuffed with aubergines and squid, and the duck is also cooked to perfection. The kitchen offers upscale Mediterranean dishes with the highest quality products from the island alone. The venue oozes charm from start to finish and is a must for those visiting Mahón. If you go, do say hi to Anja for us!

The garden is serenaded with orange trees. Old town house was built in 1812 and renovated a hundred years later by the first modernist architect from Menorca, Don Francesc Femenías Fábregues. Owners Anja and Nando, both Menorcan entrepreneurs one day decided to turn their dream into reality and transform Nando’s old architecture office into a hotel. Together they gave their hotel a familiar, close and very magical atmosphere.
