Gerhardt Braun Gallery - Palma de Mallorca
Gerhardt Braun Gallery works with keen talented professionals portraying entireties of photography, painting, sculpture, video, installation art and performance art. A long trajectory of contemporary artists preceded the past three years in this eclectic gallery, which was inaugurated in late 2012 with exhibits from Bulgarian artist Hristina Milanova. Soon after, well established artists like Bruno Bisang, Josep Maria Sirvent and Thierry Feuz to name a few, have portrayed their jewels here.
The primary continuity of the Gerhardt Braun Gallery is to focus on the strongest works being created today by awarded artists and also emerging international ones worthy of being prized as masters of their productions. The gallery is managed by director Mercedes Estarellas. Previously, Ms. Estarellas founded and ran for seven years SKL (SKyistheLimit), a Palma-based gallery, where she created a successful program with international vanguard artists, some of which continue to collaborate with Gerhardt Braun Gallery. The actual founder of the gallery, Gerhardt Braun is originally from Cologne, Germany and on the same street as the gallery has also opened two installments: Gerhardt Braun Concept (where you can find high quality clothing, designer furniture and artwork) and Gerhardt Braun Lighting company.
The amazing entrance from street name Carrer de Sant Feliu nº10, cordially invited us into the gallery. Each room that we entered got more dynamic than the last, leading up to a third floor where we ended with an untitled series of Markers. We especially love the works of Francesca Martí's Red Kiss 2000 (main image above) and Thierry Feuz's paintings of sublime colours, shapes and compositions. A perfect spot to venture off the beaten path, we recommend taking some time out to visit the Gerhardt Braun Gallery.
