Ca's Ferrer de Sa Font

The rustic, low-key island of Menorca never ceases to amaze us. Situated in the historic centre of Ciutadella, you can find the old smithy dating back to 1756 that replaced forges and tools for knives and forks. This boutique Menorcan gem was passed on to five generations of blacksmiths until the last member of the family to work in the profession retired in1995. What we have now is a food haven with ecological, environmentally cared for food that obliges by the farm to table concept.

Both agricultural goods and livestock supplies Ca's Ferrer de Sa Font with the best qualitative food. The restaurant is the first certified organic restaurant in Menorca. The team behind the project are environmental, ecological and rural developers in the island, treasuring us with their genuine philosophy for eco living. We tried their tasty lamb confit with herbs, chicken wrapped in shrimps and a vegetable salad. For dessert we tried the torrija, which is a sort of bread that is soaked in milk, honey and spices after being dipped in egg and fried in a pan of warm olive oil.
