The journey itself up to Hotel Villa Carlotta Taormina doesn't disappoint, as it is nestled up among the winding roads of the rugged yet scenic cliffs overlooking the deep set blue hues of the Ionian sea and Mount Etna. Staying here is like being at home, only a very exquisite one. Every aspect adorns beautiful pieces carefully sourced and styled to perfection. This majestic hotel superbly pairs a personable service, high class standard along with comfortable rooms and excellent food. You can even dine on the rooftop terrace and taste the most enticing meals set with a view and glorious interior.

OUR STORY

You will find 23 rooms and apartment suites paraded among this decadent treasure trove and then there is the villa, which has 4 apartments. Every room has some form of outdoor living space for you to enjoy, whether it takes form in a balcony, small garden or private patio. The pool is located at the lower end of the villa and has spectacular views of the sea, a perfect retreat after having spent the day visiting hotspots like Isola Bella or trawling around the historical Greek amphitheatre. Towels are provided poolside and there is a staffed bar area adjacent to the pool, so no need to rush to your room to order room service, you can simply unwind and disconnect. For us the most remarkable aspect is the breakfast service, that is served on the rooftop, which in itself is reminiscent of an art deco parlour with the walls neatly decorated with lemon picture frames and more, fully representing Sicily at it's finest. You can tuck into traditional Sicilian pie, homemade cakes such as cannoli, tarts, biscuits and more, local cheeses, pistachio nuts, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and more. They really and truly are the "breakfast masters", I mean they even have their own pastry chef who is responsible for creating an array of treats, made with seasonal ingredients and changed regularly. This is beyond passion and sheer dedication.

Villa al Mare, a grand 3-bedroom villa was opened earlier this year and is located approximately 900m away from the main hotel. It is rather impressive with en-suite double rooms, a kitchen, a living area with 2 single sofa beds, and an impressive panoramic sun deck with a large Jacuzzi that overlooks the sea. The best thing, guests have access to the facilities at the hotel, as well as having a caretaker and butler on hand for 8 hours a day! Guests need check in at reception at Hotel Villa Carlotta Taormina and from there, they make their way to the villa.
