OVERVIEW
Opened in the summer of 2014, the state-of-the-art four star standard tented camp, Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge, is the new reference for luxury eco camping in South Africa. It is situated in a secluded location, near the unscathed Guernsey Private Nature Reserve, genuinely surrounded by natural habitats and protected species.
Expect the 4 tents to all have en-suite bathrooms with dual basins, bathtub, indoor and outdoor showers and an excellent air conditioner. The stay has all the modern amenities as needed, including TV in the main lodge with DSTv and WiFi connection available in all public areas, but you will be neighbours with the African bush on your doorstep. Hospitality and privacy is an absolute priority here, and the staff at Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge will go out of their way to satisfy your every need. Fresh food is served on a daily basis. Only the finest ingredients and offerings of both international and South African cuisine are served here. Dinner is apportioned in the roomy dining hall or on the deck nearby, depending on the weather.
When you are not taking in the breathtaking views of the bush and the Drakensberg Mountains, or watching animals drink at the waterhole, there are a number of activities you can experience with Cheetah Paw. A full day Kruger Safaris can be arranged, the entrance to the Kruger National Park is a mere 40 km drive from the lodge. Guided safaris in open or closed vehicles are provided for visitors to experience the wildlife and nature as it is. For the more adventurous, the game drives will give you the adrenaline rush that you need. Meet lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos and even leopards on your wild ride through the animal's natural habitat. White water rafting, tubing and boat cruises can also be arranged as visiting the Kamai Reptile Park, the Big Baobab tree and other itineraries on the bucket list.
HOW TO GET THERE
The easiest way to get to Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge is via the Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit. The driving distance from Eastgate Airport Hoedspruit to the lodge is about 45 minutes. South African Airways offers daily direct flights to and from Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport. Rental cars are available at the airport or for those who do not want to drive themselves, Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge offer airport transfers to the lodge.
